If you do not wish to scroll down the large list in the above menu with your mouse, many browsers allow you to click once on such a pull-down menu, and then use arrow keys, page-up/down, home/end, or type a letter or the initial letters of the item in question to be brought directly to that item. You can then hit return to select the item, and tab or click to the page/paragraph field to type in a number there. A few items also allow typing section or selection numbers (e.g., Gleanings). The Qur'án and Bible (and The Advent of Divine Justice secton and paragraph) searches allow multiple input (e.g., Suráh or Book (and chapter) and verse), separated by colon or space. If you are interested in using keyboard shortcuts in your browser (or other programs) instead of using menus as we have here, please see our Abbreviations (and shortcuts) page. Click here to add an abbreviated version of this page to your Mozilla sidebar (in Firefox, click on the link, add it as a bookmark, and then click on the bookmark anytime you want to load it into the sidebar). Alternatively, Mac users can, with Safari and the shareware program Saft, save a copy of the page here in the directory specified in the Saft documentation. We have also created another such sidepanel but for searching the Writings (at the Bahá'í Reference Library). Safari/Saft users (see above) should copy the file here. And to add either of these sites as options for the search bar (in Firefox), see here. These will then become accessible to other Mozilla-type programs and search plugins (such as if you install the Context Search or Search Sidebar). For other Mozilla-type options (re: RSS), see here. |
